Serving

Interested in serving on a ministry team at Liberti Church?

One Body, Many Members

Serving in Church ministry is a powerful way to live out our faith and reflect Christ’s love to others. Scripture calls us to action: “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others” (1 Peter 4:10), reminding us that our talents are entrusted to us for the good of the body.

In Romans 12:4–5, Paul writes, “Just as each of us has one body with many members...so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” When we serve, we strengthen that body, build unity, and grow in grace. Jesus Himself said, “The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve” (Mark 10:45)—and we follow His example when we step forward in ministry.

Whether you're gifted in hospitality, teaching, music, or simply lending a helping hand, your service matters. Join us in this joyful calling and discover how God can use you to bless others and deepen your walk with Him!

Ministry Areas within Liberti Life

So what is there for you to get stuck into? We have several voluntary ministries, such as:

  • Outreach ministry
  • Kids & Creche ministry
  • Music worship ministry
  • Audio & Visual ministry
  • Hospitality ministry
  • Set-up / set-down ministry

There's always something to be done and we always welcome more pairs of hands to make it all happen! If you have a gift - be it evangelism, teaching kids, musical ability, muscle for moving equipment and chairs, or simply a warm welcome - we would be greatly blessed if you would serve with us at Liberti Church.

Who Can Serve at Liberti?

We are obliged to ask some questions and share some specific information with you when you apply for volunteering at Liberti Church. This shouldn't take too long and will help to ensure that we honour everyone who volunteers and create a safe place for everyone to participate in and serve across the life of our Church, as well as keeping those we serve safe too.

First of all, in order to serve on a ministry team at Liberti Church, we require that every volunteer be a Covenant Member of our Church family, if you are not already. For more information on what this means and how to become a Member, please click and read this page linked below:

Secondly, we require all ministry volunteers on all teams to complete a DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) check to ensure everybody's safety, as any voluntary role you are in is likely to come in contact with serving children and vulnerable adults within our Church and our local community. Church voluntary role DBS checks are free for volunteers, so no need to pay for this yourself, and we will email you about how to apply for a DBS during your volunteering application process. Unfortunately, existing DBS checks are unable to be used as a specific Church volunteering DBS is required.

If you are volunteering for a ministry area which involves working with children, we would also ask that you provide the contact details of two people who can provide character references for you. These details will then be followed up by a member of our Safeguarding team.

Thirdly, when you apply your expression of interest in volunteering with us we will ask you to consent for Cornerstone Collective of Churches to securely store your information.

Respecting you and the data you share with us is really important to us. At all times we will endeavour to respect your information and keep it safe in accordance with General Data Protection Regulation legislation. The link to our Privacy Policy is linked below.

Finally, we require all Church volunteers to agree to our Volunteer Management Policy and sign our Volunteer Agreement, as advised by the Charity Commission. All volunteers are also expected to adhere to the Safeguarding Policy.

These can all be read in full at the links below, and you will be asked to sign these during the volunteering application process.

Expression of Interest Form

Thank you for your interest in serving in a voluntary role at Liberti Church Lark Lane! We recognise and honour the vital role that volunteers play in the life of Church. As the Bible shows us, the service of Church members is absolutely essential to the Christian life and God's purposes in His people on earth:

"Christ gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds, and the teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ [...]. Speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into Christ, who is the Head, from whom the whole body joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love." ~ Ephesians 4:11-16

So we are immensely grateful for your heart and willingness to serve at Liberti!
